South Branch Career and Technical Center's Middle School Career Discovery Lab is a partnership with Grant County Schools and Petersburg High School. This lab provides the setting for a career exploration course which is offered to all 7th and 8th grade students at PHS. This exploratory program is offered 7 periods each day and is staffed by a full-time SBCTC instructor. Petersburg High School 7th and 8th grade students will each attend for one semester. Students are engaged in authentic problem-based learning experiences as they discover their interests and aptitudes through exploration in each of the 16 career clusters. The lab hosts multiple learning stations that are engaging and interactive and allow much diversity. Each learning station is designed to be utilized on any device at any time, will accommodate two-person teams and provide ten days of flexible content. A flipped classroom strategy is implemented to allow students to work through units efficiently. This exploratory course provides a unique experience that allows students to complete in-depth career exploration.
